Summary:
Food is fundamental to human existence, at the heart of our cultures, deeply tied to our natural and physical environments, and offers a gateway to reflect on the systems that influence and shape our worlds. Despite numerous advancements in the ways that food comes from the land to our tables, the food system is identified as a contributing factor to serious social and environmental issues. This presentation by Dr. Charles Levkoe will highlight some of the most significant challenges facing our food system while offering pathways for the future. He will also share examples of collaborative research initiatives that challenge dominant structures and aim to ensure a more equitable and sustainable food future for all.
This webinar is organized by Regroupement des chercheur·es SAT, une initiative du Pôle bioalimentaire.
The Pôle bioalimentaire, powered by INAF and supported by FRQ, aims to catalyze innovation and collaboration in the biofood sector. Drawing on an interdisciplinary approach, the Hub supports the development of sustainable and resilient food systems, fostering the integration of innovative solutions across seven priority areas. Our webinar series explores these areas to inspire and equip stakeholders in the sector through rich and informative exchanges.
