Our college Simone Lemieux is this year’s winner of the Prix DES FONDATEURS JEAN-DAVIGNON ET PAUL-LUPIEN de la SQLNM! We would like to congratulate her on this well-deserved recognition of her commitment to research, publication, leadership and knowledge transfer in the fields of lipidology, nutrition and metabolism.

Winner’s biography:

Simone Lemieux is a nutritionist and professor at Université Laval’s School of Nutrition. She completed a bachelor’s degree in nutrition, followed by a master’s degree in exercise science and a doctorate in physiology at Université Laval. Her postdoctoral studies were carried out in the Department of Medicine at the University of Toronto. She is a researcher at the Centre nutrition, santé et société (Centre NUTRISS) of Université Laval’s Institute of Nutrition and Functional Foods, and has held the position of program director for the bachelor’s degree in nutrition since September 2023. Her research focuses on the factors that influence food choices, the study of eating behaviours in relation to weight, and the development and evaluation of interventions to improve eating habits and practices.

Professor Lemieux has received grants from various organizations to pursue her research, and has published numerous scientific articles. Since the beginning of her career, she has been involved in the supervision of nearly seventy graduate students, in addition to contributing to the training of several hundred nutritionists.
