Launch of the joint call for projects “Climate adaptation and food quality”


Close collaboration between Ouranos and the Pôle bioalimentaire

The result of work between the Consortium sur la climatologie régionale et l’adaptation aux changements climatiques “Ouranos” and our brand new branch, the Pôle bioalimentaire, as well as financial support from the Quebec government and the Fonds de recherche du Québec, we are pleased to officially announce the launch of this joint call for projects, which aims to :
– Develop knowledge on the impacts of climate change on the nutritional and sensory quality and safety of food.
– Study the consequences of these impacts on one or more of the following players: the processing industry, the distribution industry and Quebec consumers.
– Propose solutions to adapt to the impacts and consequences identified.
– On the basis of the results obtained, formulate recommendations for the further development of knowledge or for the appropriation of knowledge by the players in the food systems concerned.

This opportunity is open to all researchers. Certain conditions apply to the composition of research teams and the projects to be explored. The amount of funding is set at over $500,000 and aims to support up to 2 relevant projects.

The application deadline is May 1, 2024, 12:00.
An information session is scheduled for March 20 from 2 to 3 p.m., registration required.
