Expertises
Professor Thierry Ghislain heads the Laboratory for the Analysis of Biomass, Bioproducts, and Bioprocesses (LAB), which is part of the Biomass Technologies Laboratory. His expertise in analytical chemistry has enabled him to collaborate with major industrial groups as well as numerous academic partners from universities in Quebec and across Canada in fields as diverse as renewable energy, biofuels and bioproducts, agri-food, the pharmaceutical and cosmetics industries, and the environment. His research focuses on developing analytical methods to improve our understanding of biomass conversion processes and the characterization of bioproducts. He also conducts research on detecting food fraud by combining multidimensional molecular characterization and artificial intelligence.
