Expertises
Dr. Andréanne Michaud’s main research objectives are: (1) to characterize the neurobehavioral determinants of food intake by examining the relationship between brain function, using neuroimaging techniques such as functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI), eating behaviors, and the regulation of energy intake; (2) to better understand neuroanatomical, functional, and neurobehavioral changes following weight loss induced by bariatric surgery; and (3) to investigate the relationship between metabolic complications of obesity, brain structure and connectivity, and cognitive alterations. Her work uses, among other methods, functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI), neurobehavioral tasks, and questionnaires assessing personality traits, eating behaviors, and dietary intake.
