Access to fully funded multidisciplinary health services and adherence to a pediatric obesity management program

Scientific poster prepared by Marie Cyrenne-Dussault, nutrition student, under the supervision of Jean-Philippe Drouin-Chartier.

In Canada, more than one-third of children are overweight or obese, yet access to multicomponent lifestyle interventions remains limited, particularly for services not covered by the public health system, such as consultations with dietitians or kinesiologists. This study aims to evaluate the association between access to a family subsidy program and adherence to a lifestyle modification program, as well as changes in adiposity, among children with overweight or obesity followed at the pediatric obesity clinic Maison de santé prévention – Approche 180 in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.
