Expertises
Dr. Alain Veilleux is interested in the role of the small intestine in the development of postprandial dyslipidemia in insulin-resistant individuals. His goal is to elucidate the factors and mechanisms within the intestinal microenvironment involved in the development of insulin resistance in enterocytes and the dysregulation of lipid and lipoprotein metabolism. He advocates for a translational approach, focusing on feedback loops between fundamental research and human reality, by employing cell biology techniques on human intestinal tissue samples.
