The overall objective of Dr. Daiva Nielsen’s research program is to design genetically tailored lifestyle interventions for the prevention of chronic diseases. Her work focuses on evaluating how genetic variation influences responses to diet and health indicators, as well as on the use of genomic information to develop personalized strategies for the prevention of cardiometabolic diseases and to ensure effective knowledge translation to healthcare professionals. Dr. Nielsen also works on research methods related to knowledge transfer and develops training programs for dietetics professionals.
