This webinar aims to present the PROACTIF 2026 call for projects, entitled “Affordability of Local, Healthy, and Sustainable Foods.”

The session will:

• Clarify the definition of and key issues related to food affordability

• Present the eligibility and evaluation criteria

• Outline expectations regarding project deliverables

• Answer questions from interested participants

Time will also be dedicated to networking in order to foster interdisciplinary collaborations and partnerships with stakeholders.

Call for projects summary: 

Powered and funded by Farm Credit Canada (FCC), this initiative aims to identify and support the development of solutions to improve food affordability, notably through technology, the circular economy, or territorial approaches. Proposed projects should contribute to exploring solutions addressing the current impacts of economic, social, territorial, or technological mechanisms on food costs, while maintaining nutritional quality, food safety, and minimal environmental impact.

Important information: 

• Funding available: up to $50,000

• Project duration: 18 to 24 months

• Eligibility: the principal investigator must be affiliated with Université Laval. Co-investigators may come from other institutions.

• Collaborations encouraged: intersectoral collaborations and partnerships with stakeholders.
