Call for Projects – Affordability of Local, Healthy and Sustainable Foods

The PROACTIF initiative, led by INAF – Université Laval, is pleased to announce the launch of the call for projects “Affordability of Local, Healthy and Sustainable Foods.” This call aims to support interdisciplinary research to improve food affordability in Canada.

Powered and funded by FCC, this initiative aims to identify and support the development of solutions that improve the affordability of food, notably through technology, circular economy approaches, or territorial initiatives. Projects should explore solutions addressing the current impacts of economic, social, territorial or technological mechanisms on food costs, while maintaining nutritional quality, food safety and minimal environmental impact.

Key information

  • Funding available: up to $50,000
  • Project duration: 18 to 24 months
  • Eligibility: The principal investigator must be affiliated with Université Laval. Co-investigators may come from other institutions.
  • Encouraged collaborations: intersectoral and partnerships with community or industry stakeholders.
