Evolution of the overall nutritional quality of salty food products available in Québec and associations with Health Canada’s new front-of-package nutrition symbol

This study examines the evolution of the nutritional quality of salty snacks sold in Quebec and the potential application of Health Canada’s front-of-package nutrition symbol. Preliminary results show stable Nutri-Score ratings for crackers between 2020 and 2024, along with frequent sodium exceedances in products that would display the symbol.
