Expertises
Jacques Corbeil leverages the latest advances in bioinformatics and machine learning to support diagnosis, improve prognosis, and optimize the treatment of diseases. Genomics generates a vast amount of data that must be interpreted using novel bioinformatics approaches. Dr. Corbeil uses state-of-the-art technologies and big data analytical methods to facilitate the interpretation of complex phenotypes. His research focuses on interactions between infectious microorganisms and their host, the effects of antibiotics on the microbiota, the design of small molecules and drugs that can interfere with specific microbial functions, and the integration of “omics” data in oncology. Dr. Corbeil’s work lies at the interface of computer science and omics sciences.
