{"id":14232,"date":"2023-11-24T07:30:41","date_gmt":"2023-11-24T12:30:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.inaf.ulaval.ca\/?p=14232"},"modified":"2023-11-23T08:29:30","modified_gmt":"2023-11-23T13:29:30","slug":"une-etude-du-laboratoire-de-julie-jean-sur-lherpes-a-lire","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.inaf.ulaval.ca\/en\/actualites\/une-etude-du-laboratoire-de-julie-jean-sur-lherpes-a-lire\/","title":{"rendered":"Read Julie Jean Laboratory&#8217;s study on Herpes"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The research team tested the Herpes simplex 1 virus on stainless steel, aluminum, glass and plastic, as well as on foods such as cheddar cheese, sliced almonds, apple peel, and various beverages.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We also assessed the transferability of the virus between a stainless steel surface and latex or nitrile gloves, such as those used by people working in the food industry,&#8221; adds the researcher.<\/p>\n<p>The herpes virus survived at least 24 hours on all surfaces tested, and at least 1 hour on all foods. &#8220;The only exception was cola, probably because of its acidity.
