An INAF Member and Student Wins the FSAA’s Faculty Finals

Laurent Dallaire will represent the faculty during Université Laval’s final competition.

Laurent Dallaire, a master’s student under the supervision of Ismail Fliss, was ranked number one among the candidates in the competition Ma thèse en 180 secondes (“My Thesis in 180 Seconds”) at the Faculty of Food Sciences and Agriculture. He has consequently received an entry pass for the final competition in which all of the faculties at Université Laval will be participating on March 30.

In two minutes and forty-eight seconds, Laurent presented his research to the audience, which focused on the use of bacteriocins in swine production as a natural alternative to antibiotics.

The competition requires students at the master’s and doctoral levels to present their research to a diverse lay audience in simple and plain language. Students must give a clear and concise, yet convincing, presentation of their research in under three minutes.

We wish the best of luck to Laurent during the university finals!
