FAST program

One of the major challenges of this century is to provide dietary choices that allow people to remain in good health. This context strongly encourages innovation in the food and health sector and has led to major changes in the way agri-food businesses operate. Using new technologies and approaches, companies are able to better meet the needs of consumers who wish for healthier food options.

FAST is an advanced development interdisciplinary program that aims to meet the needs of the agri-food industry. It is intended for highly qualified and polyvalent personnel who are able to rise to new challenges, aiming to provide support and assistance throughout the company's innovation process.

The FAST program is a joint initiative of INAF, at Université Laval, and two University of Manitoba research organizations, the Richardson Centre for Functional Foods and Nutraceuticals (RCFFN) and the Canadian Centre for Agri-food Research in Health and Medicine (CCARM). It was established in the spring of 2011 with funding from NSERC through the Collaborative Research and Training Experience Program (CREATE).
